Warsaw hides many unique places where education meets nature. One of them is the Kamień Educational Pavilion – a modern learning space in Golędzinów, located on the banks of the Vistula River in the heart of the Middle Vistula Valley. It’s the perfect spot for nature lovers, ecology enthusiasts, and those interested in the history of the river—as well as anyone looking for a peaceful corner to relax.
A Stone That Connects the Past and the Future
The pavilion takes its name from a large boulder that inspired its design. The “stone” symbolizes the passage of time, the river’s history, and its ever-changing landscape. The architecture of the building evokes natural rock formations, with a shape reminiscent of forms sculpted by water and wind erosion.
The structure was created as part of the LIFE+ project, aimed at establishing bird habitats and protecting the natural environment along the Vistula River. Located within the buffer zone of the Middle Vistula Valley Special Protection Area for Birds, it is a site of significant ecological importance.
What Can You Find at the Kamień Pavilion?
The pavilion blends educational and recreational functions. It hosts workshops, lectures, and meetings focused on environmental protection and the Vistula River. The building’s interior is modern yet seamlessly integrated with the surrounding natural landscape. Large glass panels offer stunning views of the Vistula Valley and its untouched scenery.
As part of the project, several key features were developed:
✅ New bird habitats – including nesting areas for terns and other species
✅ Recreational spaces – walking trails and resting spots for visitors
✅ Educational space – a venue for workshops and community events
